MAGIC PATCH - A great little magazine on Country

I have purchaesd this great magazine which is all "country" focused. Some realy primitive designs, and the designer Vero lives in France. She does all her quilting by hand. I firstly learnt of this book by another blogger Jo Jo who had purchased the copy in France and I have managed to track down a copy. Some quick and easy ideas inside.

Oh yes - I have been busy blogging

Horray - it has taken quite a few posts etc to get my head around all these things to learn when Blogging/posting etc. I have finally worked out how to put in larger pics - simple when you know what buttons to press.

I have some miscellaneous projects I am working on also

SECRET SANTA

Just giving an update. I have been sewing like crazy, and am now finishing off some of the finer details for my Secret Santa Swap Partner. This is just some of the exercise I have done so far - oh and she does like cats accordingly to her blog!!!
(I do too, so enjoyed stitching so far).

PROJECTS FOR MY ANGEL

Ok, so I am new to this Angel Swap and was unsure how it all worked, other than I have to make a minimum of 3 gifts and send before the 30th October.

I have had such great fun choosing fabrics - which are sooooo different to my personal style, however, am hoping that my Angel swap partner will like. I have searched the local patchwork shop, driven then nuts, attended local craft shows hoping that a "visitor" has some different prints. My partner likes the Civi War prints /Paisleys/ early 1900's material. I have had such a hard time to obtain any of these around here, so have had just had to go with what I think will suffice. I now have to find some nick nacks to send with my goodies and hope to send off this week.

Thank you so much for the wonder Designers for their inspiration and creation of their designs to share with so many "unknown" people out there.

In regard to my own Angel - you are keeping me busy trying to track you down. It has been such a delight to have already received two surprises from you, and I am working really hard to find you. It is so nice to know that someone else out there is actually making for me. I am very excited to receive parcels in the post.

I have certainly enjoyed being someone elses Angel and shopping and stitching for her.

THE LATEST HOMESPUN -No. 65 - Vol 9 /No.10 - My Mug Bag Pic is published!!

For anyone whom follows my blog, you will know that back a few months ago, I was new to blogging, and my first ever post I wrote about a "Mug Bag" pattern which I saw in a Homespun Magazine whom a Mailbag reader had sent in of her end result.

Impressed with this design, I then tried to track down the pattern, and ended up finding the reader who sent her picture in. She then sent me her copy. I then sent her a pic of my adaptions, and she suggested I send this into Homespun to show them my version as I added a little more depth with the paint brush after completing the sewing.

This great person ended up introducing me to the world of blogging, and also the Angel Swap and we have been great blogging buddies since. This is the wonderful Jo.

Anyway the end result was the magazine ended up publishing the pictures of My version of the Mug Bag and story in this months Homespun.

Isnt it just amazing with technology how you just meet people whom you dont even know and communicate with them and share your ideas and creations. Thanks to the world of blogging since and Jo whom got me started. I am still amazed as to how generous and sharing everyone all is.

Today I arrived home and was sooooo excited to receive yet another surprise from my Angel - this is my 2nd parcel. I just couldnt wait to open the package.

Ok Angel, now you have me miffed!!!! I had thought I had you worked out, but in the mantime, have just received a note from this person to say "it's not me - Im not your angel!! - so now the quizzing is really on.

Thank you so much for your lovely 2nd gift. You have done a lovely job on the needleworkon the needlecase - very neat - thank you I just love it. Not to mention the other great goodies you have sent - a beautiful Dutch thimble, a clever roll of stickytape that measures in centremetres and an Opera CD and two special tea bags - how did you know I am now a "tea" drinker and not the "addicted coffee one" - good choice.

Now - your Angel Clue - you are one of the Administrators on the Opera CD - now I will have to put my thinking cap on for that one.!!!!!!!!
