JUST A SLIGHT DIVERSION T0 MY SEWING - Some Tromp L'oeil

I have been very good this year, finishing off projects etc.

One thing I started quite a few years ago, which was put to the back of the cupboard was this Country Tromp Loeil' painting which I started with a fabulous artist and great friend Maggie Hayne at one of her workshops. I decided to dust off the cobwebs from my paint brush this long weekend and get them back in action to finish my project. What a great feeling it is to have another finished project.

Maggi is currently working on getting her blog set up, so I hope to give you her blog details soon so you can pop on over the get inspired with some of her "original" work and perhaps have a slight diversion to the needle and cotton for a few moments and try the art of picking up a paint brush. Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can do it!!

She does however, have a great Tromp L'oeil book which she published a few years ago. I have put copy of this in my side bar in case anyone is intereted in purchasing a copy. Let me know if so, and I can put you in touch with her. I am sure that she wouldn't mind autographing it too.!! There are some great projects inside and some good "easy to follow" instructions. I can speak from experiene here, as I helped with the typesetting and was used as the guinea pig to see if I could achieve a "good looking " result, of which I can say I am very plesaed with the things I have done.

This Country window is not in her book, but a great example of what her inspiration is like.
