Isn't it funny how animals know their place!!!
The daughter's dog is home - he thinks I am making something for him to keep him company!!!
I have done thiis quilt as a "quilt as you go," however, have used a different method to what I have used before in joining it. I am joining the seams with a raw edge.
Then once joined, am attaching a bias strip!!!
When I first thought I would make this quilt, I thought I would have it knocked over in a couple of days. How wrong was I - that was a few months ago. I obviously didnt look into the detail, nor be aware that each block would have to be made about 3 times before I got it right.
Even the "cute" little border has 15 seams for one paw print.
I am however on the home run now and have it all sewn together and spending this week tidying the ends, so will put the finisihed product up in a few days hopefully.
Then I can move on to the next project........
Got a few good ones, not sure what to start next!!!!.

I love your dog quilt. the colours are so nice.
I love this quilt more every time I see it. Aren't the little paw prints so adorable?
I've not seen this QAYG method before. Looks much simpler than the one I'm trying to do!
Your puppies are cute, character quilts do take extra time don't they?
Interesting way to quilt as you go. Do you cover the seam on the back or is the zigzag and the stitch lies from the top bias tape enough? I can see why the dog thinks the quilt is for her, it matches so well.
What a great idea to use the strip!! Do you also do a strip on the back?? How does that work?
Hmmmmmm very curious over here in Ohio.
hugs!

Oh Dawn, I love the black, white and red theme....and my Miss milly would look so cute snuggled up with that quilt....can I ask where the pattern is from?? Cathy
I love this quilt, looks absolutely fantastic!
Do you sew the sashing on the back over the raw edges before doing the front??? or how do you manage the back?? Looks like a cool way to do quilt-as-you-go....
Dawnie that is lookling so good...
it is going to look great when completed...looks great even now
Dang girl, that's brilliant! I'll have to try your method!
WOW I LIKE YOUR DOG QUILT VERY CLEVER AND GREAT COLOURS AS WELL.YOUR DOG MUST THINK THAT IT IS FOR HIM.
